Get in Touch

This is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Contact the agency that created or holds the record for an authoritative answer.

Official Nash County Contacts

For a current custody question or a booking record, use the county offices first. The reviewed county sources do not publish a separate records mailbox or public hours for NCSO, so call and ask how the request should be routed.

Nash County Sheriff’s Office
222 W. Washington Street
Nashville, NC 27856
General and non-emergency: 252-459-4121
Emergency: 911

Nash County Detention Facility
222 West Washington Street
Nashville, NC 27856
Detention line: 252-459-1536

The staff directory lists detention leaders, including Captain Miles Costa at 252-459-1568 and Lieutenant Juanita Matthews or Lieutenant Arkeata Jones at 252-459-1565. Those are operational contacts, not a confirmed public-records unit. Do not guess at an email address.

Where Each Question Belongs

Different records answer different questions. Use the route that matches the event:

  • For a booking photo, booking sheet, charge record, or release record, call NCSO or detention, then make a narrow written request.
  • For the sheriff’s selected wanted list or a tip, use the official NCSO page and its published phone route. Never approach a wanted person.
  • For a city arrest, ask the arresting police agency whether it created the report or photo. Rocky Mount has a public records form; Nashville has a police-report copy route; Red Oak has no municipal police department identified in the county dispatch list.
  • For a court case or disposition, use the Nash County judicial page and eCourts Portal.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner or person under state supervision, use the NCDAC offender search.
  • For federal custody, use the BOP locator or USMS route. For immigration detention, use the ICE locator or DRIL at 1-888-351-4024.
  • For custody or release alerts, use NCSAVAN. It is not a photo archive.

City Police Records

Rocky Mount Police lists 330 S Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, 252-972-1411, with Records at 252-972-1430 and Public Information at 252-972-1466. Its public records form asks for the record type, date and time, event or incident number, location, and description. It says material can be modified or redacted under North Carolina law and that audio is available for 30 days.

Nashville Police lists 252-459-4545 for non-emergency calls. Its Police Services page says police reports are available three business days after the initial report, cost $5 per copy, and are obtained through Town Hall or the police counter at 501 South Barnes Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. That fee and timing apply to police reports, not automatically to a county booking photo.
